AR logo plates are back in stock. We now have reproduction grill plates for the AR-3a as well as standard 1 1/8" square "AR" plates for use on any model, all in high quality leaded brass. See the AR parts page for details.

NEW Lines: For speaker builders, we now have available two brands of high quality silver plated/Teflon jacketed speaker wire, as well as a few special "NEW" high-end wire varieties.  First is the ever popular 18ga hookup cable from Vampire Wire. This top quality silver plated/Teflon jacketed wire can be used in single strands for short runs to mids and tweeters, or braided/twisted in multiple strand configurations to build up to heavier gauges for woofers or main runs from your amp [now in stock at $0.89 per foot]. We will also be able to supply a pure silver 22ga wire by special order [not cheap], perfect for internal rewiring of electronic components [pre-amps, amps, processors, mixing boards, etc] where you want low level signals kept as clean as possible over short runs. We will also carry select models of Vampire interconnects. These cables provide true high-end performance at a mid-grade price point. Compared to similarly priced products from the advertising driven marketing "Monsters", the build quality and performance of Vampire cables are worlds better. Vampire designs and builds their products in-house at their Florida factory.  The "other guy's" cables are often cheap far-east imports designed more for maximum retailer profit rather than sound quality. Vampire is also an OEM supplier of wire, cables, and connectors for many high end audio companies. Pick up one of those big bucks high end amps or speakers and chances are they have Vampire connectors on the back.

For those of you who prefer to use a heavier cable for wiring your speakers, we now stock a superb quality 12ga silverplate/Teflon wire from Dutch masters at Van Den Hul for only $5/ meter [about $1.50/ft]. This wire is widely used in both high end speaker cabinets and studio mixing boards. Always at the forefront of metallurgical research, Van Den Hul also has two new types of wire, including a silver/copper/zinc alloy conductor, and a unique hybrid design combining concentric layers of heavily silvered copper and a special conductive carbon material. These hybrid cables have already gained glowing reviews in the audio press, and for their performance level they are very reasonably priced, starting at about $5/foot for 12ga twin-lead, to $23/ft for 4ga {yes FOUR Gauge} single-lead wire. The full line of VDH interconnect cables are available by special order. These are not budget cables, but are very reasonably priced when compared to offerings from other high end manufacturers. Their most "basic" cables still have far above average construction quality and materials, and start at around $100 per pair. Lines extend up to "best-of-the-best" high end types with totally non-metallic [linear carbon fiber] conductors made up of over 12,000 individually insulated carbon fiber strands, shielded by 4 alternating layers of silvered copper braid  and extruded carbon fiber. Prices for the top grade cables start at around $200/pr. Most cables are available with your choice of RCA or XLR [balanced] termination, and can be ordered in stock lengths of .6 to 1.5 meters, or any custom length beyond. The carbon fiber cables can be made over 75ft in length and still show no signal loss or noise.

If you plan on building a BIG Subwoofer or just want your existing sub to play cleaner and tighter, we will have several new digital subwoofer amps [class D and T] with power outputs ranging from 500 to 1000 watts, plus a few new high end subwoofer types. The 600 watt Supernova digital amp is available right now for $599. It is hand built here in the USA with the highest quality parts, is ultra clean and ultra stable, and currently used in some of the best reviewed high end subs on the market. This amp is capable of delivering well in excess of its rated power, and is rock solid stable even at 2ohm. The built in variable crossover is 24dB instead of the common 12dB, giving much better overall sound and isolation. Electrical efficiency is up at a whopping 98% [highest ever measured], so it is barely warm to the touch even after hours at full volume. It also has a patented optical distortion limiting circuit which prevents the amp from being driven into clipping and damaging you woofer[s]. The larger 1Kw amp should be available in the next few months, it is built around the new class "T" technology from Tripath. This would be an ideal amp for driving multiple subs or a single "mega" sub like the Aura Elan's noted below. Cost is estimated to be about $650. It won't be as clean as the Supernova amp, but it will be the watt-per-dollar grand champ.

Allison fans take note: The Allison Acoustics company has been resurrected and is once again in the hands of music lovers instead of an accounting firm. Roy Allison himself was brought back to help redesign and modernize  the most popular Allison classics, including the models One, Three, and Four. With this revamping of the company we will also be able to provide better than original parts for many of the classic Allison speakers that will be drop-in fits to the original cabinets. This includes the elusive 3.5" dome mid used in the One and Three. All the drivers are being produced here in the US, no cheap imports. Cabinet construction is to the highest standards, well beyond that of the original models. While we do not plan on carrying the completed speakers, if you are really interested we can most likely hook you up with a pair. Bear in mind that these aren't cheap, a set of One's will set you back about $6k, $3k for the Three's , and about $1.5k for the Four's.

The new Aurasound ELAN series woofers are FINALLY available after a 5 year wait!!!. These have to be seen [and heard] to be believed. Not just another "overbuilt" woofer, these are a total custom job using Aura's patented NEO-Radial magnet system from their famous 18" pro sound woofer. The X-Max of these woofers is an increadible 2" - 2.5" depending on size, and due to the special magnet system and underhung VC the efficiency is still good. Versions available for home subwoofer use and car audio. Price???? not cheap.  $615 for the 10's, 12" $715, 15" $865, and $1100 for the 18's. Older pic shown, production drivers are black cone and frame.

new2.gif (159 bytes)Peerless XLS Subwoofers: XLS = Xtra Long Stroke. Move over NHT 1259...go ahead and let the "Titanic" sink, the XLS line of super woofers from Peerless is now available in 10" and 12" sizes. These woofers play deep, tight, accurate, and if you want, LOUD. The XLS 10" is quickly becoming the #1 high end subwoofer in Europe, and has already shown up in the US in the NHT Proaudio studio subwoofer selling for a cool $2 grand. With its matching passive radiator, the XLS 10" provides a -3dB point of 20Hz in a tiny 1.25 cuft box!! The 12" version is just as impressive, able to reach 18Hz in a 2.25 cuft box. These woofers debuted at CES nearly 3 years ago, but Peerless spent another 2 years fine tuning them before the final release. In business since 1928, Peerless doesn't rush hastily developed products to market. Priced at $127 and $145 respectively, these woofers come in at a price point that makes them even more attractive.

new2.gif (159 bytes)Klipsch Heresy 12" Woofers [improved]: This Layne Audio exclusive is a new, improved version of the classic Heresy woofer, with an upgraded magnet system and long-throw voice coil. Tired of hearing your old Heresy woofers break up when fed low bass from your CD/ DVD player?? This will help considerably. Only $79 ea for a limited time. This woofer is also appropriate for use in building a standalone subwoofer that is tone-matched to any of the classic Klipsch speakers. These woofers can reach 35Hz in a 3cuft vented box with 96dB efficiency, very impressive.
